Wow!! What an absolutely incredible year 2017 was! I cannot thank each and every one of you enough for supporting me in my dream! This year I hit a milestone of ONE HUNDRED sessions a couple months before the year was over and I could not have done it without all of your love and support! With 2016 out and 2017 in I wanted to take a little moment to reflect on what an incredible year 2016 was!

After graduating Highland Community College in the spring, business took off! I'm almost positive that every weekend from August to November was booked solid with sessions. I am so incredibly thankful for each and every person who was in front of my camera this year. I had a record number of sessions and over half of the sessions were new faces to Shutterbug by Sheridan. Whether it was you booking your annual session or referring a your friend to me, I could not have done it without you! Here are a few photos from my favorite sessions this year!

Hello!! 

I'm not very good at keeping up to date on my blog posts, I mean I rarely ever sit down and do this BUT after last night's session with Kobie I just couldn't help myself! I think Kobie (and the four other people in the "audience") thought I was crazy, because I was running around in one of her grandpa Bob's pastures "oohing" and "ahhing" over the beautiful fall grasses and this INCREDIBLE old limestone house! But I think they will all understand after they see this blog post and they see the final images from last night! 

Thank you Kobie for being so willing to jump over fallen down trees and scavenger through a bunch of tree branches to sit in the middle of them! You are SUCH a bright young lady and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for you!

Hello there!

  Last week I made my way to Arkansas to take this beauty's senior pictures! Her session was spread out over a three day course, and boy was it a blast! Our first day we shot at this gorgeous place in Jacksonville where her brother tagged along to be our prop boy, he also ended up finding some incredible Cypress trees! (Thanks Brandon) On our next outing, we traveled to Burns Park as well as the Old Mill, where I encouraged Makayla to literally "step out on a limb" to get some incredible shots. On our final day of shooting, Makayla and I hit the road and headed to the River Market in Little Rock where we were approached by three gentlemen that asked "Hey Ladies, care to buy us breakfast?", however we politely declined and headed out to capture some great shots! We wrapped up her session in her home town with a couple great walls we found in an alley.

Makayla, dear, you are such a smart, funny, bright young lady! You have such an incredible future ahead of you. I wish you all the best as you finish your senior year and head off into "the real world" next year! Thank you so much to the Grady family for everything y'all did for me this past week!

  My name is Sheridan VanSickle and I am the very proud owner of this little photography business! Right around five years ago my older sister, Ashley, and I got this crazy idea to start a photography business together. In 2010, Ashley and I started our photography journey together with Life's Little Moments Photography. At the time, I was a freshman at Riley County High School and Ashley was a fifth grade teacher at Bluemont Elementary School. With big dreams and my whole life ahead of me, I thought "Why not start pursuing this dream?!" 

  By the end of my junior year, the photography business was growing rapidly and taking over Ashley's full-time job. We decided that it was time that the business was turned over to me. With a new website and name, Shutterbug was launched!!

  After graduating Riley County, I made the decision to continue my education at Highland Community College, studying photography and business. I have currently completed one year at Highland with the intention of returning in the fall of 2015 and graduating in the spring of 2016.
